Divorce not just bad for Marriage

I usually lay in bed with my laptop to unwind with a game of Poker late at night. (Fake Money) Tonight I was doing pretty good while I was visiting some of my favorite blogs and was at the final table of the Poker Tournament. Yes, I stumbled across Divorce Statistics (I was Bored) so I started looking though this Site. I get dealt pocket Kings so I place a conservative bet since I am second to last place at the table then go back to reading Divorce Stats, Did you know that Massachusetts has the lowest divorce rate? You can tell I have never lived there. I am sure you can all guess what state has the Highest… Yep Nevada, yes I lived there, Divorce one was part of those statistics.

At this moment I got the beep saying the Flop in the Poker Tournament. Here I am 6 out of 8 started with 90 I think I am doing good with Pocket Kings, I look at the Flop… King… Jack… Eight… I am thinking… You know the pot is equal to the money in my hand and I have Three Kings, Screw it… I Push all in, its not real money anyway and at this point of the game everyone will fold and I just doubled my money. But two people call me… They are still in battle. So I switch back to the Divorce Page I found…

I read -

First Marriage 45% to 50% marriages end in divorce
Second Marriage 60% to 67% marriages end in divorce
Third Marriage 70% to 73% marriages end in divorce

I couldn’t believe it… So I guess that blows the whole third times the charm saying out of the water. Practice does not make better… I you fail try try again… I think I need to rethink the way my wonderful parents raised me. The only way to suceed is though a path of failure… My ASS…

Beep… time to go back to the game… Next card comes out, BAM another Jack, Full House Kings High, there is no way in hell I am going to lose this one. But the other two are in a battle. One pushes enough in the middle of the table to pull the other all in, without hesitation the other pushes all in… Would you believe he had pocket 8’s so he was showing a full house Jacks high, I have him… CRAP!!! I look over at the last guy, Pocket Jacks… You have got to be kidding me, Four Jacks. What the Hell are the chances of someone kicking two players off the final table that had full houses? I guess about the chances of someone in Las Vegas on their third marriage…

The Shave…

Last Summer I went to the Barber as i did every 2 weeks. I was trying to grow my hair back like it was before the military shaved it all off. For some reason I just couldn’t stand having my hair touching my ears so the barber decided to give me my usual military style hair cut.
One thing I noticed while trying to grow my hair was it was not as full as it used to be. I never noticed this because in the military I kept it really short. When the Barber gave me my military hair style back I noticed it was even thinner than before I grew it back. That night I went home and stared in the mirror for a few minutes… Grabbed my shaving cream and my razor, complete baldness…
For the whole summer I shaved my head every time I shaved my face. I loved it. I could get up in the morning and didn’t have to worry about brushing my hair. The only problem I had was the first sunburn.
Once Fall hit the north eastern US the air started to get a little to cool on my head so I stopped shaving my head. I got one hair cut during the long winter up here in NY.
This weekend I woke up early and poured myself a cup of coffee, looked out the window and saw the birds flying around with the construction material required for their new home for their expanding families. I thought it was a nice day and it was time to shave my head for the summer…
That night still trying to talk myself into shaving my head I walked out side and could hear the Canadian Geese playing in the Lake across the street. This was a definate sign that I could shave my head for the upcoming temperatures. I went inside and lathered my head. Within minutes I was completely bald…
Now because God love to play his little jokes on me in this life on earth, the next morning I woke up to 6 inches of snow. I don’t think I have ever felt the pain of cold this bad before, and I lived in Alaska for four years.
I am starting to understand why my father who is bald by nature has decided on moving south to the warmer climates and has invested in hats that provide shade, where I had to go out and buy a few winter hats.

No Such Thing as Reverse Discrimination

Today I was listening to the morning radio show on my way to work. They started discussing some election stuff like everyone now that the primaries are happening. They started talking about Clinton and Obama. Now being a registered republican in Albany New York I can only vote in the Republican Primaries. It really doesn’t matter because I am probably going to write in my vote.
Anyway this radio station mentioned the words reverse discrimination. These words, when put together drive me crazy. I am a middle class white male in my thirties, I have not been reverse discriminated against, I have been discriminated against. There is no such thing as reverse discrimination, discrimination is horrible who ever you are.
This was brought up because they were talking about black votes are going to Obama and woman and idiots are voting for Bill’s wife.
Election time brings out the idiots of all kinds. I for one would love to see a Black Woman in Office. I have no issues voting for a person that has views closer to me than anyone else. If I stood up and said I am not voting for Obama because he is black, then I am a racist. If a black man stands up and says he is voting for Obama because he is Black he is patted on the back. I was actually talking to a friend of mine and a coworker the other day who are both Black. My friend said he was going to vote for McCain. The Coworker actually got pissed at my friend because he is not voting for the Black person that is running. Am I horrible because I will never vote for McCain, I am a Veteran and so is he. I am not voting for “my kind”
Who is a Black woman suppose to vote for? Does she turn her back on her race or gender?
Vote for those you agree on and leave the skin tone and gender out of it.

Living in NY as a Dallas Fan is hard especially now that the New Jersey Giants are in the Super Bowl… But…
The Giants have been NFC Champions 4 times since 1970:
- 1986-87
- 1990-91
- 2000-01
- 2007-08
hmmm… How bout them Cowboys?
- 1970-71
- 1971-72
- 1975-76
- 1977-78
- 1978-79
- 1992-93
- 1993-94
- 1995-96
The Giants have won the Super Bowl 2 Times:
- 1987
- 1991
How bout them Cowboys?
- 1972
- 1978
- 1993
- 1994
- 1996
The Giants have appeared in the Super Bowl 3 times, this will be the fourth - 2 wins, 1 lose - Who else has been to the Super Bowl 4 times?
Buffalo Bills - Great Company to keep there…
The Cowboys have been to the Super Bowl 8 Times - 5 Wins - Who else has appeared 8 times? NO ONE… Who has appeared more? NO ONE…
So to the Giants Fans out there, enjoy the Hats and T-Shirts now because as a Cowboys fan I can wear one for each day of the week…

The Sun will be out Tomorrow, Tomorrow…

I actually had to leave my Cubicle this morning, I usually only do that to get Coffee or to get rid of the used Coffee ;)
I am sitting at my desk and all of a sudden this bright light started to make it really hard to see my Computer Monitor, I had to get up and investigate. I looked and it was coming from the window on the other side of the room, As I walked around the Seas of Cubes in the office I noticed that it was actually coming from outside the window, it was the sun. My friend is coming back from his long journey around the world, I have been coming into work in the dark and have been going home in the dark I forgot what it was like to feel the warmth of my friend looking down at me. I hope he will stick around for awhile.
This actually reminded me of one of my favorite blogs by a guy in Northern Norway He still has a few days till the big guy shines down on him.
